Shanghai Songhu Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall is the only memorial hall in the country themed on the two Songhu Anti-Japanese wars. It is located in Baoshan, the main battlefield where the Shanghai military and civilian fought bravely against the Japanese invaders. The memorial hall is a combination of a pagoda and a hall. The total floorage is 3,490㎡; the exhibition hall is 1,500㎡; and the outdoor exhibition area is nearly 8,000㎡. Shanghai Songhu Memorial Hall for the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and Shanghai Songhu Memorial Park for the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression form a combination of hall and park, culture and nature, history and art. Since its completion and opening on Jan. 28, 2000, the memorial hall has attracted wide attention from people from all walks of life. In 2014, it was named by the State Council as a National Memorial Facility (Site) for the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in the first batch. It is a Patriotism Education Base, CPC History Education Base and Volunteer Service Base in Shanghai.
