Introduction: Shanghai Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine consists of the Medical History Museum of the Chinese Medical Association, a TCM specimen exhibition hall, a university-history exhibition hall, as well as herbal gardens such as Baicao Garden and Garden of Medical Profession. The three‑storey, single‑block building features a semicircular–semisquare form, symbolizing “Round Sky and Square Earth”. The acupuncture bronze figure dates from the Qianlong reign of the Qing dynasty and was imperially made in 1744. It measures 46 cm high, 22.8 cm wide, and 16 cm thick. Its surface is cast with the meridians and acupoints, but without the acupoint names. According to the brocade box inscription and historical records, it is one of the acupuncture bronze figures the Qianlong Emperor commissioned in the ninth year of his reign to honor officials who contributed to the compilation of “Golden Mirror of Medical Principles”. The bronze figure depicts an elderly woman with a naturally plump physique and a kindly, vivid facial expression. A total of 580 points are marked on its surface; it is packaged in a brocade box with annotations and is exceedingly precious.
