Originally built in the first year of the Jingding era during the Southern Song dynasty, the Yihao Temple was once unchallenged in the Jiangnan region with its 5,048 magnificent buildings. The temple contains the remains of carved clouds based on paintings of Zhao Mengfu, an ancient painter and calligrapher, as well as a 700-year-old ginkgo tree. It also retains the Jinze Temple Fair, which is held twice a year and has spawned vibrant local culture such as folk customs, cuisine, and performances.
