Introduction:
Juyuan Hundred-Fruit Orchard opened for trial operation on May 28, 2017. It is located in Jiading District, Shanghai, with excellent transport links: it borders the G15 Shenhai Expressway (Jiaxi exit) to the north, Huyi Highway to the south, and the Shenhai Expressway to the east. The park covers 1,380 mu and mainly includes six planting areas for cherries, kiwifruit, strawberries, figs, honey peaches, and vegetables. In addition, more than ten other fruit varieties are grown on a small scale, such as blueberries, persimmons, and dragon fruit. The site is crisscrossed by waterways in seven sections, with a total water area exceeding 100,000 m2. Taking advantage of its ecological waters, the park has developed four docks serving water activities including fishing, water bicycles, kayaking, canoeing, electric boats, bumper boats, and pedal boats. Eight scenic bridges cross over the waterways, each offering a distinct view and story. The former Qinggang Primary School has been transformed into a cherry-themed complex called “Cherry District”, combining Japanese-influenced and Tang-style architectural elements. Cherry District houses the “Cherry Fate” restaurant, the “Ink Realm” Calligraphy & Painting Courtyard for cultural and art exchanges, the “True Craft” handicraft workshop, and the “Cherry” café. The park also features the first standard live-action CS arena and a jungle activity area in East China. The carefully designed Juyuan Train includes a dining car, VR experiences, agricultural culture exhibits, and a seed museum. Other attractions and facilities include a children’s playground, a national defense education base, flower seas, calamus wetlands, and sites such as Tongxin Pavilion and Luolian Pond, plus flower-and-bird displays. Visitors can choose from a wide range of activities according to their preferences, including fresh fruit picking, strolling through flower seas, boating, cycling, go-karting, inflatable castles, live CS, train VR, flower-and-bird viewing, succulent DIY, baking, barbecues, and dining.
