Shadow · Art Tour of Suzhou Creek

2024-10-24

The artistic atmosphere of Suzhou Creek is fully displayed in the architectural spaces along the river. The stories of time have given them a soft glow, and strolling through them feels like being in an art palace, with picturesque scenery at every turn.

At the intersection of Huangpu River and Suzhou Creek lies "Waitanyuan," the birthplace of the century-old Bund. Walking on Yuanmingyuan Road feels like stepping into a European town, full of exotic charm. Outstanding historical buildings such as Meifeng Building, Ampere Trading Company, Young Women's Christian Association Building, Lanxin Building, and Zhenguang Building have stood here for nearly a century, steady and gentle, silently recounting the past to the world. If you want to delve into the past and present of these buildings, you can visit the Urban Archaeology Library, which combines exhibitions, cultural and creative activities, and reading. In this charming cultural space, you can discover the unique romance of this city.

Art is also synonymous with this place, with cultural spaces dotted throughout the city, becoming a unique scenery. The Shanghai Bund Art Museum, transformed from the Asia Society Building, retains the modern decorative art style and elegant traditional Chinese elements. After undergoing renovations, the interior space is well-equipped and can be flexibly used for exhibitions of different styles.

If you get tired, you can also go to Luneurs for brunch, making you feel like you are in historic European architecture. Or you can enjoy traditional Italian cuisine at Adesso, where the terrace with stunning views will leave you with countless beautiful photos.
