Qingpu District

Panlong Tiandi

Panlong Tiandi is located in the Hongqiao Business District of Shanghai. The area was close to the mouth of the Wusong River during the Tang Dynasty and was an important center for overseas trade in the Jiangnan region. However, the port lost its former glory when the Wusong River silted up. Nevertheless, Panlong remains an important marketplace and commercial center in the Qingpu area. Today, this area has been revitalized through real estate development.

Panlong retains the charm of traditional Jiangnan architecture and cleverly combines it with exquisite modern lighting. During the day, it exudes a quaint tranquility, while at night, it becomes a dazzling spectacle of lights. The surrounding historical buildings can be traced back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. During the development process, the design team preserved and restored a large number of ancient buildings through meticulous renovation, allowing you to experience a strong historical atmosphere amidst the busy modern life. Walking on the stone paved roads, you will see ancient wooden doors, traditional residential buildings with carved beams and painted rafters, and ancient bridges, as if stepping back hundreds of years into a Jiangnan marketplace.

Panlong Tiandi is not only a cluster of ancient buildings, but also a living space filled with artistic and cultural atmosphere. It preserves the ancient charm of the Jiangnan water town while incorporating the creativity and vitality of modern urban life. Regular art exhibitions, craft markets, and cultural activities are held here, making it a creative gathering place for local residents and visitors. Art institutions such as the Yu Deyao Art Museum have settled here, showcasing cross-border creations of contemporary art and traditional culture.

In addition to art spaces, you will also find some unique cafes that cleverly blend the historical feel of old houses with modern design. Here, you can read a book or enjoy a cup of coffee, unconsciously slowing down your pace. There is also a youthful side to this place, with many brands hosting pop-up events and salons, giving Panlong Tiandi more vitality and possibilities. On weekend nights, there may be street performances and concerts in the small square, becoming a gathering place for people in the city.
