Shanghai Wild Animal Park

Shanghai Wild Animal Park covers an area of 2,300 mu and is home to more than 200 rare and endangered species of wildlife from both domestic and foreign origins, totaling over tens of thousands of animals. These animals, whether adorable, agile, or beautiful in appearance, allow people to appreciate the rich wildlife resources of China as a vast country. Although Shanghai is not their original habitat, these animals live happily and reproduce here, becoming part of Shanghai's urban life.

Modern zoos not only contain abundant knowledge of biology, but also serve as an important form of lifelong natural and life education for the public. Almost every major international city has its own zoo system. The spatial arrangement and display methods of zoos have also witnessed the changes in human-animal relationships and educational concepts.

Shanghai Wildlife Park has different tour options, each with corresponding spatial arrangements. The park is divided into drive-through zones, walk-through zones, and the "Water Exploration" section. The drive-through zones adopt a free-range exhibition mode that simulates the natural ecological environment of Nanhui in Pudong, providing animals with more freedom of space, creating a special way of touring where "people are in ‘cages' while animals roam freely." Visitors can ride through the thrilling predator area, experiencing the wildness and majesty of tigers jumping on cars, lions climbing trees, and brown bears climbing poles.

In the walk-through zones, visitors can encounter numerous animals such as giant pandas, African elephants, giraffes, flamingos, kangaroos, and red pandas. The diverse animal science explanations and behavioral displays allow people to better understand the habitats and natural behaviors of different animals and comprehend the vastness of the ecosystem.

The "Water Exploration" project introduces a new mode of 360-degree boat rides with unobstructed views of animals. In the jungle-like secret realm resembling the Amazon, people can observe up close more than 20 rare animals from around the world and a large number of migratory birds.

The existence of these flagship species not only showcases the power and beauty of life but also transforms the natural knowledge found in books, photos, and films into tangible and concrete images.
