Pudong New Area

Shanghai Tower

This massive building, named after Shanghai, is located in Lujiazui, Pudong. It is the newest urban landmark in Shanghai, and its unique and simple design is enough to make it stand out among the towering skyscrapers. Despite its grandeur and prominence, the visual structure of Shanghai Center is dominated by soft and almost gentle lines, adding a subtle romantic atmosphere to the skyline of Lujiazui. Especially in the early morning or at dusk, when people look across the river from the Bund Park, Shanghai Center presents a sense of lightness rarely seen in other giant buildings, bathed in cool-toned light.

Shanghai Center attracts attention for its rich symbolism. The "Top of Shanghai Observation Deck" on the 118th and 119th floors offers an updated experience of overlooking Shanghai from the sky, metaphorically referred to as the "City of the Sky". Located at 552 meters on the 119th floor, it is one of the highest observation platforms in the world, offering a panoramic view of the entire Shanghai through 360° panoramic windows. Shanghai Center's J Hotel and the "Café at the Top of Shanghai" restaurant also feature this spectacular view.

Especially worth seeing is the Tianshi 632 Art Space on the 126th floor (583 meters). As part of the architecture and a damping device for the attraction, it creates a unique internal landscape exclusively for Shanghai Center, which is absolutely breathtaking. Landscape artists have further enhanced this stunning feeling on the 125th and 126th floors: 480 point light sources are projected onto the top of the space, making people feel like they are under the starry sky; 136 laser emitters produce six types of lasers, combining into ever-changing scenes; under the dome-shaped space, 244 speakers surround people with sound effects. As the damping device of Shanghai Center swings with the wind, 26 laser projectors and 8 sensors can transform real-time captured dynamic data into thousands of combinations of music, images, and light and shadow matrices. Every second, people, the building, and the external space are incorporated into the landscape, becoming part of it.
