Located in Zhonghong Village, Fengjing Town, Jinshan District, Shanghai, the Jinshan Farmers’ Painting Village is a tourist destination that integrates the research, creation, exhibition, collection, circulation, and authentication of farmers’ paintings while showcasing the rural charm of the Jiangnan region. The village borders Liantang (Qingpu District) to the north, Xinbang (Songjiang District) to the east, and Jiashan (Zhejiang Province) to the west, forming an administrative village of Fengjing Town—a renowned historical and cultural town in China.
Spanning a planned area of 4,500 mu (approximately 300 hectares), the village is divided into five themed sections: “Danqing Homes,” “Shantytown Homes,” “Waterside Homes,” “Rice-Fragrance Homes,” and “Fengjing Homes.” Key attractions and activities include: the Jinshan Farmers’ Painting Exhibition Hall, fishing at the rustic farm ponds, the “Nongxian Garden” children’s play area, five resident artists’ studios where painters live and create, the “Nongxian Thatched Retreat” leisure spot, and cultural performances at the Educated Youth Square.
