The West Bund Museum is located along the riverside in Shanghai’s Xuhui District, with its architecture designed by the practice led by British architect Sir David Chipperfield. Completed after three years of construction, the museum spans 25,000 square meters. Beyond its three main gallery volumes, which host both permanent and special exhibitions, the museum houses an ad hoc project space known as “Gallery 0.” The lower level comprises a multipurpose hall, the “Box,” and the “Auditorium,” which contains an art studio, a playroom, and a children’s workshop.
