The People’s Square Fountain was first built in 1994. It is the earliest dry fountain built in China. Last year, the People's Square Music Fountain underwent another retrofit. While maintaining the original style and features of the ground facilities on the fountain square, the fountain equipment and control method have been improved using advanced technologies and concepts.

One highlight in this retrofit is a curved vertical water curtain added to the dry fountain, coupled with lasers and projection. Viewers can feel the visual impact of the images projected on the water curtain from both sides.
