In the various parks of Shanghai,
The vibrant scenes of spring are calling.

The first wave of spring in Shanghai has already arrived.
Let's go and take a look together~
Rhododendron and Peony on the High Mountains | Chenshan Botanical Garden
As an important part of the 2025 Spring Flower Exhibition at Chenshan Botanical Garden, the Alpine Rhododendron Exhibition will be held from now until February 16th in Exhibition Greenhouse A (Tropical Flower and Fruit Greenhouse).
In addition to the common varieties seen in previous years, this exhibition features special Alpine Rhododendron varieties such as Snow White, Pink Ball, Magic Powder, and Caruso.
Interwoven throughout various attractions, these dreamlike colors resemble enchanting fairies, embodying the richness and purity unique to Alpine Rhododendrons.
The entire exhibition is themed "Painting Screens with Spring" and combines different periods of history and cultural backgrounds. The curators aim to showcase the cultural memory and aesthetic evolution carried by Rhododendron flowers in the river of history through the form of Eastern aesthetic scrolls. Every step and every scene has its own highlights.
Apart from Alpine Rhododendrons, do not miss the Peonies. Chenshan Botanical Garden uses flower forcing techniques to make Peonies bloom earlier than their usual flowering time in April. The general public can enjoy over 60 different varieties of out-of-season forced-blooming Peonies until February 16th, without leaving Shanghai.

"Bringing Good Fortune through Rolls" | Shanghai Botanical Garden
From now until February 16th, the Shanghai Botanical Garden's "Snake Offering Auspiciousness, Flowers Blooming in Prosperity" Lantern Festival Flower Exhibition is in full swing with five main themed exhibition areas. The combination of special plants and festive flower landscapes creates a beautiful display, with every detail containing wishes for a happy Spring Festival.
Of particular note is the "Fortunate Curls" exhibition area in the Four Seasons Flower Greenhouse Succulent Zone, which features a series of plants with curled forms in the botanical world.
Their curled shapes resemble the winding posture of snakes, making them very interesting. Examples include the Silver-edged Curled Leaf Spider Plant, King Air Pineapple, Cottony Fruited Allium, Spring Grass, Blue Iris, Curled Leaf Weeping Banyan, and Wrinkled Leaf Hyacinth.
These unique plant forms echo the theme of the Year of the Snake and are full of vitality. Let's all experience these "fortunate curls" plants together!

Red Wall Camellia | Qushui Garden
This year the plum blossoms bloomed late, but the winter plum has been fragrant from the cold winter until after the beginning of spring. The standby time is very long, and for those who haven't had a chance to check in yet, there is still an opportunity to do so.
Although the winter plum smells good but is not easy to photograph, clever netizens have discovered a place in Shanghai where you can capture the "red wall winter plum," and that is Qingpu Qushui Garden.
Whether it is the Imperial Study Building or the Nianhe Hall, the festive atmosphere with lanterns hanging everywhere, and the red walls as the background, make the winter plum appear particularly playful and lively.
It combines a strong Chinese aesthetic with the classical charm of Jiangnan gardens. The choice of scenery is truly amazing!
Qushui Garden was initially built in the 10th year of the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty and is one of the five classical gardens in Shanghai. In 2007, it was rated as a four-star park in Shanghai.
