Dunhuang Contemporary Art Museum
Yangpu District is offering juicy discounts at multiple tourist attractions, inviting visitors from home and abroad to contribute travel plans for the ongoing first season of the Shanghai tourism itinerary competition.
Dunhuang Contemporary Art Museum opened in 2024, featuring an exterior reminiscent of wind-sculpted sand dunes or arched caves, evoking the natural landscapes of Dunhuang in northwest China's Gansu Province. The facade flows with the rhythm of flowing clouds, echoing the aesthetic elements found in Dunhuang murals while adding rich variations to the structure of the museum.
The ongoing exhibition "TA: Higher Heights," centering on the themes of space, ritual, and literature and following the ancient Silk Road, brings together more than 20 precious cultural relics spanning a thousand years from the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 25-220) to the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), as well as about 20 sets of contemporary artworks.
