The first Shanghai Movie Fans Festival kicked off on Wednesday and will run through June 22, offering film buffs an immersive carnival that blends the fun of cinema with tourism and business.
Closely interacting with the upcoming 27th Shanghai International Film Festival, the movie fans festival will help to turn Shanghai into a "city of movies" with international influence and stimulate consumption vitality.
At the Shanghai Great World, many classic movie scenes will be recreated in a 1:1 ratio. Film-themed markets will also be hosted, with film enthusiasts invited to showcase their talents on an open stage.
Classic film retrospective exhibitions will offer movie fans acclaimed works in new digitally restored version.

The festival will run through June 22, interacting with the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival.
These movies, including "Rouge" "Police Story", "Spring in a Small Town", and "Angels on the Road", represent the pinnacle of Chinese film narrative and artistic aesthetics and provide an insight into the development of Chinese cinema.
The festival will also integrate film screenings with landmark fashionable urban spaces such as MIDNITE, the Grand Theater's new trendy restaurant, and the terrace of the Bund Finance Center.
Fans can also embark on different movie walk routes to explore the city's distinct film locations and time-honored cinemas.
The light-hearted "Film Tour" also radiates to surrounding stores, cafes and other characteristic merchants for movie fans to exchange and make friends at film salons.
