Visitors watch a holographic movie at Global Harbor Mall in Putuo District.

An exhibition about Mars has opened at Global Harbor Mall in Putuo District along with a series of events targeting female customers.

The exhibition “Hello, Mars” features a holographic theater where visitors can imagine they are walking on the planet. They can also dismantle the eight planets of the solar system and learn their structures and components.

The exhibition runs through April 7.

Another exhibition about Disney and Marvel's first female superhero film "Captain Marvel" has also opened at the mall. It has six zones to allow movie fans to pose, run or fight with the characters in the movie.

The film, the first in the Marvel series to feature a female lead, grossed 214 million yuan (US$32 million) at the box office on its first day in Chinese theaters.

Female customers are encouraged to make declarations or post their photos in a nearby section to showcase their “female power” like the superhero.

These events are part of the mall's effort to fight online shopping trends. Many of its exhibitions, such as one about Hollywood's Golden Age, have attracted a large number of visitors and fans.
