The 11th Lujiazui Coffee Culture Festival (Spring Edition) opened today in the Pudong New Area, taking over the Lujiazui Central Greenland with coffee, culture and craft.

More than 150 brands are scattered across the lawn, from specialty coffee roasters and tea houses to craft makers, incense studios and food pop-ups. Coffee names include Punchline Coffee Roaster, Decameron, Mumamoo Coffee, DECADE CAFE and Parking Coffee.

This year's spring edition coincides with the 25th anniversary of Kunqu Opera's UNESCO listing, bringing live performances into the program.

Over three days, young performers from the Kunshan Contemporary Kunqu Theater move through the crowds with roaming shows, turning the classical art form into something visitors encounter unexpectedly rather than on a stage.

On Friday and Saturday, "Kunqu Prince" Zhang Jun joins the troupe for a water-stage performance, the first time Kunqu Opera has been staged on a public water platform in a central Shanghai park.

The performance folds tradition into unexpected layers of sound – rock, electronic music, saxophone and violin – set against the skyline of Lujiazui's financial district and the low hum of the festival below.
