Selected works from the exhibition

The exhibition, "Tales of Now: Contemporary Swiss Comics from the Fumetto Festival," co-organized by the Shanghai Minsheng Art Museum, the Embassy of Switzerland in China and the Fumetto Comic Festival Luzern, is now open.

Curated by Eleonora Bitterli, this exhibition features nearly 500 works by 22 Swiss artists. It presents a systematic exploration of the creative ecology and cultural context of contemporary Swiss comics and illustration.

The exhibition unfolds across six thematic sections – "Courage," "Identity," "History and Memory," "Dreams and Worlds Beyond," "Science Fiction" and ""Society" – showcasing how artists address these themes through their unique visual languages, cross-media experimentation, and insightful cultural commentary.

The sections reflect both the personal experiences of the artists and broader cultural contexts, inviting visitors to pause, reflect and reconsider the possibilities of comics in the contemporary art scene.

Date: Through April 6, 10am-6pm (closed on Mondays, last entry before 5:30pm)

Venue: Shanghai Minsheng Art Museum
