The FISE World Series will return to Shanghai's West Bund on October 15-18, offering free admission to four days of extreme sports and activities.
The festival will take place around the West Bund Dome Art Center and the GATE M West Bund Dream Center on Xuhui District's Huangpu River waterfront.
Organizers said the event will stretch along more than 800 meters of the riverfront. An open-format layout will connect competition venues with the surrounding public spaces.
The program will feature 18 contests across five sports: bicycle motocross (BMX), skateboarding, street dance, freestyle scootering, and inline skating. More than 500 athletes had registered as of a Friday (October 9) briefing, organizers said.
The BMX Freestyle Park and BMX Flatland World Cup competitions will lead the program. Both will feature men's and women's events under the International Cycling Union, cycling's world governing body.

Park riders perform jumps and tricks on ramps. Flatland riders use a level surface to show balance and bike-handling skills.
Organizers said the flatland competition will take place at the Dream Center's dock for the first time. Spine ramp contests will also return, with evening sessions extending the action after dark.
The dance program will expand beyond breaking to include other styles through a partnership with Shanghai's The Circle Dance Club, according to the event briefing.
Visitors can try sports as well as watch them. Organizers plan an interactive area with PLAYCON offering pickleball, street basketball, golf and beach volleyball.
Other activities will include boxing, basketball shooting and football challenges. Climbing areas, parkour courses and a Spartan challenge area will offer more ways to take part. There will also be evening music parties.
Shanghai first hosted FISE in 2024. Organizers describe this year's festival as preparation for the city's role as a host of the 2028 Olympic Q-Series (Qualifying Series).
