An exhibition themed on the acclaimed animation series "YAO-Chinese Folktales" is running in the city.

Produced by the Shanghai Animation Film Studio, the anthology has become a cultural phenomenon nationwide, earning high ratings on film and review website Douban.

The animated shorts of its two seasons have been captivating audiences with diverse artistic styles and original characters, crafting a fantastical Eastern universe deeply rooted in Chinese aesthetics and rich imagination.

Over 300 rare sketches and props from the series are on display. Live puppet shows, installations, and 3D magic mirrors enrich the experience.

Many original works by young artists and animators are on display in the 2,000-square-meter immersive space. The exhibition also brings back Shanghai Animation Film Studio classics like "Uproar in Heaven."

The exhibition will run till May 5. Visitors can purchase tickets on Damai.
