The Liuli China Museum is hosting "25 Years of Shared Radiance: A Joint Exhibition of Contemporary Glass Art."

It celebrates the relationship between Liuligongfang and the Tsinghua Academy of Arts and Design, which has had a significant impact on the development and education of contemporary glass art in China.

The Tsinghua University Academy of Arts & Design's Glass Art Program launched a new era for Chinese glass art in 2000.

With Liuligongfang founders Loretta Yang and Chang Yi as consultant professors, the Department of Arts and Crafts' Glass Art Research Laboratory opened soon after.

Imbued with Chinese humanistic philosophy and artistic significance, their glassworks have been exhibited worldwide.

The exhibition features 33 works created by nine artists who are either graduates or instructors of the glass art program.

The works demonstrate two main artistic directions. Liu Yu's "Coupled Fish" (based on Chinese folk culture and auspicious symbolism) shows how classic motifs have been modernized. Glass is used to recreate old symbols like paired fish and the "fu" (福) character, sparking a new visual interaction with modern viewers.

Works like Li Fubiao's "Ancient Sounds 20 – Cold Mountain" express deep material and spiritual pondering. This artwork's profound study on self, material and literary ethos unites artistic intent and glass's nature, melding current practice with timeless poetic sensibility.

"From the beginning, Chang Yi, Loretta Yang, and the Liuligongfang team generously supported the glass art program at Tsinghua," said Guan Donghai, Tsing Academy of Arts & Design professor and participating artist.

"China's glass art landscape is still developing. This exhibition is another great chance to study Chinese glass art's future."
