China Shanghai Network Audio-Visual Industry Base

Minhang boasts numerous cultural industry parks, each with its own distinctive character and a diverse range of businesses. Here are the introductions of some of the leading industry parks with distinctive features.

Audio-visual base

The Zizhu High-Tech Park, home to the nation's first national internet audio-visual industry base, introduces online audio-visual, film and television animation, online games, IT, e-commerce and other related businesses.

More than 2,000 enterprises and projects generate 16 billion yuan (US$2.27 billion) in technical, industrial and trade revenues. Since its founding, its enterprise count and economic scale have grown by over 20 percent annually.

The growth of the audio-visual content sector has significantly contributed to the successful development of audio-visual enterprises.

Platform-based companies like Youku Tudou and Himalaya FM have grown their primary business revenues year after year due to economies of scale.

Enterprises like Linghe Media and Morejoy Entertainment lead niche content production markets like online dramas, variety shows and micro-short dramas.

The base, China Shanghai Network Audio-Visual Industry Base, has attracted Intel's Data Division and Microsoft's Cloud Services Division, which provide audio-visual enterprises with basic technical support.

The industry base includes short video marketing solution provider Netjoy Holdings Limited.

The park's Light Chaser Animation, Linghe Media, Morejoy Entertainment and Myth VFX have excelled in films, TV dramas, online variety shows and other productions.

Green buildings

The Pujiang Intelligence Valley in Minhang's Pujiang Town has environmentally friendly office buildings and scientific research facilities.

The garden-style ecological park provides business facilities, growth resources and integrated industrial-urban communities for innovation, entrepreneurship and industrial development. The park serves as a successful partner and platform for resident projects.

It offers industry and business support for businesses of all sizes, leisure facilities, training and many community activities.

The 7,500-square-meter training complex hosts over 20 community events and policy exchanges annually.

The sports and wellness complex has basketball courts, football pitches, table tennis rooms, badminton halls and billiard rooms.

The park has grown across multiple sectors by leveraging Pujiang's cultural and creative industries' diverse resource service platforms.

Industrial design firms, software services and cultural and communications companies that specialize in live streaming and overseas advertising have grown steadily.

Thus, the park's cultural and creative industries thrive and grow economically.

Over 200 enterprises, including 40 high-tech and two dozen specialized, high-end and innovation-driven SMEs that offer unique products or services, are in the park. It is also among the commercial buildings in the district with annual tax contributions over 100 million yuan for several years.

Transforming old sites

VI Park in the Grand neoBay Science and Innovation Zone is a wonderful example of how old industrial sites are turned into public spaces and community hubs.

At the end of 2021, Huayi Group Shanghai Zhengtai Rubber Factory became VI Park. Now a vibrant green innovation hub, the park is fully open to the public and integrated into the community.

Through a well-planned pedestrian network, open plazas and green spaces, it draws urban footfall inside and integrates innovation spaces into public life.

Breaking this physical boundary symbolizes a new development paradigm of openness, sharing and city symbiosis.

Also, strong partnerships between businesses, universities and research centers, such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University, have built a complete system that connects research, startup support and production, speeding up the process of turning scientific discoveries into real-world applications.

The park has attracted high-tech and industrial design firms specializing in new energy and AI.

Famous companies like Goer Optics, Taier Intelligent Laser Technology Co and Shanghai Zhonglv New Energy Technology Co have formed industry clusters.

Transforming heritage sites

A 61-meter chimney stands still at 91 Yimei Road. This is the landmark of the former Reeb Beer brewery, now a vibrant dining, retail, leisure and sports complex.

Shanghai Yiming Beer Factory and Asia Pacific Brewery Group launched Reeb Beer in 1987 in Minhang's Meiling Town.

The 21,000-square-meter cultural and creative park on the former factory site fully preserves the 1980s Shanghai-style industrial architecture complex.

The park features a craft brewery restaurant, a climbing gym, public leisure spaces and additional amenities for the community.

The KL Climbing Park, a sports fan favorite, uses the tall, cylindrical barn of the former brewery for its 34-meter climbing wall. Each barn has a different shape and function, making the gym the city's largest indoor climbing gym.

The 2025 Beer Festival drew over 30,000 visitors in one day. Consumers enjoyed crisp draught beer, stouts, fruity IPA and wine-infused specialty beer from 24 top brewers from home and abroad.

As part of the Chunshen Wonderful Life Season in September, the 6th Jiangnan Gourmet Festival at Reeb Square drew 110,000 visitors over five days.

The festival has significantly increased foot traffic from nearby neighborhoods and demonstrated the potential for industrial heritage sites to fully integrate into modern urban life.

Copyright services

China Publishing Creative Design Industrial Base is an integrated industrial ecosystem hub for copyright and public services-driven creative design.

The park, at 508 Chundong Road, is near Metro Line 5's Yindu Road Station and the Jiamin Line.

The 51,000-square-meter building is at the eastern entrance to the Xinzhuang Industrial Zone.

The park targets industrial design, network information, fashion creativity, professional consulting services and other creative enterprises. It created a copyright industry ecosystem with scientific and cultural innovation, cross-industry connectivity, and investment and financing services.

Over 160 businesses had joined the park by October 2025. Preliminary data shows that since 2017, the base has generated 18 billion yuan in incumbent enterprise revenues, 780 million yuan in localized tax revenues and 3,000 direct job openings.

It now houses several industry leaders.

Top player Shanghai Qiku Network Technology Co Ltd (INFINITY STUDIO) designs, manufactures and sells high-end cultural and creative derivatives.

The company has sold and received positive reviews for its products in North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, Korea, Japan and Australia.

Shanghai Listen Media Communication Co Ltd industrializes sound production and develops cultural and entertainment projects.

The company features top domestic voice actors and operates multiple movie studio-quality recording studios. Shanghai Disney Resort and Netflix use it for Chinese voice production.

Shanghai Tonney Supply Enterprise Co Ltd provides systematic innovative solutions for hotel room products, including branding and standard planning, service model innovation, product design, technical support, supply chain resource development and supply service models.

TX Semi Electronics Technology Co Ltd develops, manufactures and sells ICs.

In 2018, the Xinzhuang Industrial Zone-based company opened a 6,000-square-meter office and warehouse in Haining, Zhejiang Province. Its industrial chain includes chip design, packaging, testing and application solution development, with sales networks in domestic cities like Shenzhen.

Rollomatic Group leads the world in precision cutting tool grinding, ultra-hard material laser tooling and cylindrical tool grinding.

Shanghai hosts Rollaumatic Trading Group Co Ltd, a 2016 subsidiary of Swiss Group Rollomatic. Its comprehensive and professional pre-sales, sales and after-sales services have won over domestic and international clients.
