Introduction：
The exhibitions at Shanghai History Museum comprise basic displays, thematic displays and temporary exhibitions. Basic displays in the East Tower include “Ancient Shanghai” and “Modern Shanghai,” with the “Lobby” on the ground floor, the “Ancient Shanghai” section on the second floor, “Modern Shanghai” on the third floor and the “Epilogue” on the fourth floor. Thematic displays and temporary exhibitions are in the South Hall on the first floor in the East Tower and on the first to third floors of the West Tower.
In addition, the museum gives a full picture of Shanghai’s history and presents the milestones of the city’s development stages and major events of the revolution in light of its architectural features and following the principle of “focusing on the revolutionary history in the context of urban history.”
