Introduction：
The Jiading Bamboo Carving Museum, located in Jiading Villa, Zhouqiao Historical and Cultural Heritage Protection Zone, Jiading District, Shanghai, displays its collection and selected modern bamboo carvings of Jiading and irregularly puts on display bamboo carving works of art owned by collecting institutions and private collectors. In the middle and late Ming Dynasty, Zhu He and his son and grandson created the Jiading School of bamboo carving featuring high-relief carving and openwork carving. Such bamboo carvings embody the rich culture and local features of Jiading. The Jiading Bamboo Carving was included in China’s first list of intangible cultural heritage in 2006. The museum will play its due role in collection, display and research to strengthen the protection and utilization of Jiading Bamboo Carving as intangible cultural heritage and do better in showing domestic and foreign audience the cultural depth and artistic appeal of Jiading Bamboo Carving.
