Introduction:
The China Securities Museum, established in January 2018 upon approval by the State Commission Office of Public Sectors Reform (SCOPSR), is the only national museum in the securities and futures industry under the supervision of China Securities Regulatory Commission. It adopts the curator responsibility system under the leadership of the board of directors. The museum was officially inaugurated on December 22, 2018. It is located at No. 15 Huangpu Road, Hongkou District, Shanghai, formerly the Pujiang Hotel, which was originally named Richards’ Hotel and Restaurant, founded in 1846 and relocated to the current site in 1857. In 1907, it was expanded into a Victorian Baroque building with Neoclassical features, with covering 16,563 square meters. The Shanghai Stock Exchange was founded here in 1990. Having witnessed the birth, development and growth of China’s securities market, this museum is an outstanding historical building that once housed a modern stock exchange, with profound historical and cultural value. The museum’s Pudong campus, located in the gallery on the eighth floor of Shanghai Financial Exchange Plaza, has a gross floor area of 4,000 square meters.
