Introduction:
The historical culture of the Xixia period constitutes an important component in the formation of the pluralistic unity of Chinese civilization. The artifacts from this era demonstrate the historical and cultural identification of various ethnic groups with Chinese civilization. This exhibition, jointly organized by the Shanghai History Museum and the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Museum among other institutions, has carefully selected 123 exquisite cultural relics from the Xixia period. Divided into four thematic sections: “Joint Pursuit of the Central Kingdom’s Governance,” “Shared Benefits of the Central Kingdom,” “Collective Creation of the Central Kingdom’s Beauty,” and “Common Veneration of the Central Kingdom’s Mausoleums,” the exhibition showcases the significant contributions of Xixia in the exchange and integration of diverse cultures.
