On Top of the Pyramid: The Civilization of Ancient Egypt

Introduction: This special exhibition is the fourth installment of the Shanghai Museum’s “A Dialogue with the World” exhibition series of arts and cultural relics. It stands as the largest-ever global-scale and highest-level outbound exhibition of ancient Egyptian artifacts in Asia, as well as the first major collaboration between an official Chinese museum and the Egyptian government to comprehensively unveil the mysteries of ancient Egyptian civilization and its latest archaeological discoveries. The exhibition brings together 492 sets comprising 788 precious artifacts from various periods of ancient Egyptian civilization, with over 95% of these treasures making their debut in Asia. Admission: [The exhibition offers various ticket categories: early-bird tickets, standard tickets, designated-day tickets, concession tickets, and family packages. Early-bird tickets are priced at 120 yuan with a limited quantity of 200,000 available, valid for redemption and use exclusively during the 2024 exhibition period. Standard tickets cost 148 yuan and are valid throughout the entire exhibition duration. Designated-day tickets are available for 135 yuan and can be used on all exhibition days except during peak periods from July 19 to August 31, 2024, from January 1 to February 28, 2025, and from July 1 to August 17, 2025, and all weekends and public holidays. Concession tickets are priced at 74 yuan with validity for the full exhibition period. Family packages include Option A (one adult and one child) at 200 yuan and Option B (two adults and one child) at 320 yuan, both valid throughout the exhibition. The Shanghai Museum implements the following preferential policies: Family packages apply to children under 14 years old (not including 14) who exceed 1.3 meters in height. Concession tickets are available to seniors aged 60 and above, minors between 6 and 18 years old, full-time undergraduate students and below, and active military personnel with valid identification. Free admission is granted to children under 1.3 meters (inclusive) or aged 6 and below (each adult may accompany up to two free-admission children), as well as visitors with disabilities presenting valid certificates.]
