The location of Pujiang Country Park used to be farmland and wetlands in Minhang District, carrying a rich agricultural history. Since the 1980s, with the acceleration of urbanization, the surrounding areas have gradually developed into cities, and agricultural land has been reduced. In order to protect the ecological environment and restore the natural landscape, the Shanghai Municipal Government decided to establish a countryside park here.
