Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park is the only comprehensive large-scale marine park in the Yangtze River Delta region. It is a national 4A-level scenic area located in the Lingang New Area of the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone. The total land area is approximately 29.7 hectares, with a total water volume of over 70,000 cubic meters. It is famous for its "Mermaid Whale Wonderland" and brings a unique leisure vacation experience and an oceanic fantasy journey to global tourists every year. Based on the marine culture theme, the park has five main themed areas: Mermaid Bay, Polar Town, Ice and Snow Kingdom, Underwater Wonderland, and Ocean Tribe. It also has three themed hotels: the Ocean Park Resort Hotel, Ultraman-themed Hotel, and Jinqiao Haichang Penguin Resort Hotel.

The park has a collection of over 30,000 marine animals, ranking first in China. It features polar marine animals and showcases hundreds of rare polar marine animals such as killer whales, beluga whales, dolphins, polar bears, and otters, as well as thousands of marine fish. At the same time, the park has always focused on "marine science popularization education". It not only has various types of science popularization exhibitions, such as interactive electronic screens, lifelike simulated landscapes, and science popularization corridors, but also has nearly 300 professional interpreters. This allows visitors to quickly receive the most accurate science popularization content in terms of visual, auditory, and tactile aspects, and fulfill the social responsibility of a science popularization education base in promoting marine culture and enhancing marine conservation awareness.

In addition to the diverse exhibitions and science popularization explanations of polar animals, marine organisms, and more inside the venues, the park also offers three major animal theater performances, three major water shows, and three major cultural performances. Combining human interaction with technological enhancements, these shows are both spectacular and novel, bringing visitors a unique visual feast.
