Shanghai Astromomy Museum

This magnificent building, which combines technology and art, cleverly integrates three circular design elements: an inverted dome, a dome cinema, and a circular skylight, forming its unique "three-body" structure. It is the Shanghai Astronomy Museum located in the Lingang New Area, with a building area of 38,000 square meters, making it the largest astronomy museum in the world.

With the theme of "Connecting People and the Universe", the Shanghai Astronomy Museum has three main exhibition areas: "Home", "Universe", and "Journey", as well as special exhibition areas such as "Chinese Sky Quest", "Curious Planets", and "Voyage to Mars". Together with the educational activity areas such as the starry sky exploration camp, they form a three-dimensional astronomical science education system. The museum has a rich collection, including about 70 meteorite samples and over 120 sets of artifacts. It is equipped with four professional-level astronomical observation and celestial demonstration devices, with a total of over 300 exhibits, among which the proportion of original exhibits is as high as 85%, and interactive exhibits account for over 50%. This allows visitors to experience the mysteries of the universe through a comprehensive sensory experience of sight, sound, and touch.

As a branch of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, the Shanghai Astronomy Museum uses advanced environmental atmosphere creation, lighting and sound effects, and high-fidelity scene simulation technology. It combines motion sensing interaction, data visualization, augmented reality, virtual reality, and biometric identification technologies to create an immersive cosmic space experience environment for visitors.
