Introduction:
Shanghai International Cruise Tourism Resort is located on the Baoshan riverside and sits at the intersection of three major national strategies: the Belt and Road Initiative, the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and Yangtze River Delta integration. Known as the "gateway to the Yangtze," the Yangtze River (China’s mother river), the Huangpu River (Shanghai’s mother river) and the East Wusong River (Baoshan’s mother river) converge here, underscoring its role as a key hub. The area boasts rich historical and cultural heritage, advantageous location conditions, and developed waterway transportation. The resort has a planned total area of approximately 15.5 km2, with a core area of about 8.6 km2 and a total shoreline of roughly 13.5 km. It features one of Asia’s largest cruise ports, two five-star hotels (under construction), five venues, six parks, Shanghai Sea World (240,000 m2), over 2,000 Chinese acres of ecological landscaping, and 3 km2 of developable water area.
The resort leverages the unique endowments of the vast Yangtze estuary, the century-old Wusongkou Port, and Asia’s largest cruise port to develop into a national-level tourism resort. It is characterized by the “three cruising” formats—cruise ships, riverboats and yachts (including sailing vessels)—and is themed “Three-River Confluence, Three-Cruising Holidays”. The resort aims to become a distinctive waterfront consumption cluster in the Yangtze River Delta, an important component of North Shanghai’s open gateway hub, China’s preferred cruise tourism destination, and a major world-class tourism hub.
Adora Magic City, Royal Caribbean Spectrum of the Seas, and MSC Bellissima— currently berthed at Wusongkou in the Shanghai International Cruise Tourism Resort — are all equipped with supporting facilities such as SPA beauty centers and fitness rooms. Middle-aged and senior passengers can enjoy whirlpool baths and hot springs in designated ship areas, walk by deck pools to watch sunrises and sunsets, and use KTV karaoke; onshore sightseeing, bowling, and table tennis competitions and other wellness-tourism activities. Within the resort’s hinterland there are already multiple high-quality accommodations — including Cordis Shanghai Seaworld, UrCove Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal, and Linjiang International Cruise Hotel — which provide amenities like free gyms and indoor swimming pools to overnight guests. In addition, wellness venues such as Yuchi Garden (Wusong branch) offer skincare treatments, relaxation massages and other wellness services tailored to the needs of residents and visitors.
