The North Bund International Passenger Center

The North Bund International Passenger Center, formerly known as "Shanghai Shanggang Cruise City Scenic Area," has a history of more than 160 years and is the economic and trade center of Shanghai since its opening. After renovation, the scenic area has a 1,197-meter waterfront, 3 large cruise berths, and 15 yacht berths along the river, which complement the Exotic building clusters in the Bund of Shanghai and Lujiazui Financial District. It is a comprehensive facility integrating cruise terminals and commercial offices.

As the first cruise terminal in mainland China, the original Shanggang Cruise City Scenic Area in Hongkou has opened to citizens and tourists while retaining its port functions. With Hongkou's unique geographical environment and rich historical and cultural resources, it has created a riverside cultural landscape with the theme of "Old Shanghai Wharf Museum" in the North Bund area. It includes the "Wharf History and Culture Corridor" along the Huangpu River, character sculptures, a distribution map of old Shanghai wharves, and sculptures of the "Sextant" and "Ocean" designed by Shanggang Group.

On August 31, 2022, in order to further create a world-class high-quality urban waterfront tourism area with regional characteristics, the Shanghai Shanggang Cruise City Scenic Area was replaced by the the North Bund International Passenger Center. The scenic area always adheres to the service concept that life is above the landscape, takes maritime culture as the carrier, and relies on advantageous landscape resources and green park resources to focus on the development of the "business, tourism, culture, and sports" industries.

There are unique landscapes such as the Rainbow Bridge and the Modu Matrix outdoor expansion project. The nearly 4,000 square meters passenger hall, which was once the first cruise homeport in China, will also be upgraded to an art and lifestyle space with two independent exhibition halls. It is also a venue for many global product debuts, combining fashion, taste, innovation, and technology, witnessing the splendid moments of many international brands. Many film and television works and variety shows have also been filmed here, such as "Running Man," "Emergency Rescue," and "Extreme Challenge," adding fun and infinite vitality to the North Bund.

The Shanghai City History and Development Exhibition Hall located on the ground floor showcases over a thousand precious historical relics, as well as hundreds of lifelike wax figures and architectural models. People can learn about the changing landscapes and lifestyles of this great city of Shanghai since its opening in 1843 through the six exhibition halls. The indoor roller coaster and 78-meter dome theater inside the sphere also give a futuristic feeling.
