The opening ceremony of this year's Shanghai Tourism Festival introduced two environmentally friendly public service routes - Roaming Suzhou River: Metamorphosis Road and Serene Ecotourism: Green Chongming. Introduction:

Shanghai's mother river, the Suzhou River, has suffered severe pollution, which not only seriously affects the quality of life of residents on both banks but also damages the image of Shanghai as an international metropolis. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Shanghai began large-scale Suzhou River remediation. Today, the once foul-smelling Suzhou River has transformed into a concentrated display area for the "people's city" concept of beautiful ecological environment, happy people's lives, and high-quality industrial development.

The Suzhou River Industrial Civilization Exhibition Hall showcases the transformation process of the Suzhou River from a hotbed of modern industry to an innovative and livable land through various forms such as cultural relics exhibitions, scene restoration, and light and shadow interaction.

Mengqingyuan Eco-themed Park is one of the achievements of the Suzhou River environmental comprehensive improvement project. While serving functions such as rainwater regulation, it also provides a public space for citizens to engage in activities.

M50 Creative Park is home to over 50 industrial buildings from different historical periods ranging from the 1930s to the 1990s. It is currently the most well-preserved collection of ethnic industrial architectural remains along the Suzhou River. The park gathers numerous active art galleries, creative studios, art bookstores, and cafes.

The Sihang Warehouse is located on the north bank of the Suzhou River, at the Tibet Road Bridge. The "Battle of Sihang Warehouse", which shook both domestic and international communities during the August 13th, 1937 Battle of Shanghai, took place here.

The Waibaidu Bridge is located near the confluence of the Suzhou River and the Huangpu River in China. It is the first fully steel structure riveted bridge and the only remaining unequal height truss structure bridge in China. Due to its rich history and unique design, the Waibaidu Bridge has become one of the landmarks of Shanghai, as well as a symbol of Shanghai's modernization and industrialization.

Quiet Ecological Tour · Green Chongming

Introduction:

Chongming Island is the world's largest river mouth alluvial island and the third largest island in China, known as the "green lung" of Shanghai. Since the beginning of the 21st century, it has embarked on the construction of an ecological island, and since 2016, it has taken new steps in world-class ecological island construction.

Chongming Xisha National Wetland Park is located in the southwest of Chongming Island, the third largest island in China and the largest river mouth sedimentary island in the world. It belongs to a large tidal freshwater wetland. It is the core component of Chongming Island National Geopark and the location of the monument of Chongming Island National Geopark. It is also the only natural wetland in Shanghai that has natural tidal phenomena and extensive tidal flat forests. It is typical, representative, and unique in China and even in the world. In autumn, it is the most beautiful season in Xisha Wetland, with colorful fir trees covering every corner of the park.

Dongping National Forest Park is located in the central-northern part of Chongming Island, with a total area of 3.55 square kilometers. With a forest coverage rate of 90%, it is the largest man-made forest on the East Coast of China and is recognized as a cultural and tourist standardized scenic area in Shanghai, a national agricultural tourism demonstration site, and a national 4A-level tourist attraction. The air here is clean and quiet, and the climate is pleasant. It has a high concentration of negative ions and is a famous tourist destination in Shanghai.

Dongtan Wetland Park is located in the eastern part of Chongming Island, covering an area of 1.81 square kilometers. It is a national 4A-level tourist attraction. The park is rich in vegetation, with beautiful scenery and fresh air. Due to its excellent environmental and ecological protection, it has become a habitat for migratory birds in the Asia-Pacific region. At the same time, Dongtan Wetland Park is also the largest ecological park closest to the city area on Chongming Island. In addition to enjoying the flowers and the scenery, visitors can also visit the Yangtze Crocodile Science Museum to learn about the habits of Yangtze crocodiles and the distribution of crocodiles in the park.

Changxing Island in Shanghai, located at the mouth of the Yangtze River, is known as the "Home of Citrus" in Shanghai. Changxing Island Suburban Park, situated in the central area of the island, is the first suburban park in the city to be certified as a national 4A tourist attraction. It is also the only suburban park in the city that has a "marine island-type suburban ecological conservation" system. Currently, Changxing Island has a citrus cultivation area of over 16,000 acres, and every autumn, Changxing Island Suburban Park hosts the Shanghai Citrus Festival.
