In Norte Vettel's artistic practice, "portrait" is a viewing method that requires constant adjustment. Whether in painting or sculpture, character images refuse to appear in a complete and stable form. Through blurring, abstraction, splitting, or deformation, they are compressed into limited visual clues and interrupted before the image is recognized. The portrait no longer points to the confirmation of the person, but guides the viewer to repeatedly move between approaching, staying, and re judging.
