Introduction:
The Shanghai Minsheng Art Museum is an art institution established by the China Minsheng Bank for the purpose of fulfilling its corporate social responsibility (CSR) and cultural ideals. Upholding the bank’s public welfare philosophy and core social and cultural values, it aims to establish itself as a first-class art museum as an important means to fulfill its CSR and give back. The museum strives to break down the barriers between different arts and bring contemporary art closer to the public through trans-regional, inter-disciplinary cultural creation and cooperation. Since its inception in 2010, the museum has been committed to providing the audience with diverse art experiences. To date, the museum has staged more than 80 exhibitions and approximately 1,000 public education events, benefiting more than one million people. By virtue of its outstanding art exhibitions and public education programs, the museum has received many commendations from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, honored an “Outstanding Experiential Base for Lifelong Learning of Culture and Art for Citizens in Shanghai” for successive years, and fully practiced the vision of “Minsheng bringing art to the public, Minsheng bringing people into the realm of art.”
