Introduction:
The Museum of Art Pudong (MAP), located at the heart of Binjiang Avenue, Lujiazui, Pudong New Area, Shanghai, is a public museum of art funded, built and managed by the Lujiazui Group. Designed by French architect Ateliers Jean Nouvel, a recipient of Pritzker Prize, MAP is a perfect mix of modern art and urban landscape inspired by classic geometry. It opened to the public in July 2021. As an important part of Shanghai’s cultural brands, MAP is committed to becoming a new cultural landmark of Shanghai characterized by international exhibition and art exchange. The museum is suitable for visitors of all age groups, including art enthusiasts, photography buffs, families with kids, student groups and cultural exchange groups. Visitors can opt for a fast route or an in-depth tour route. A fast route takes about one to two hours, with a focus on the “Mirror Hall” and featured halls, as well as the panoramic terrace to take in the views along the Huangpu River. An in-depth tour route takes about three to four hours and allows visitors to experience multi-layer exhibition spaces, appreciate invaluable domestic and foreign works of art and participate in art lectures or educational activities while enjoying in-house cultural creative products and distinctive catering services. MAP’s features and highlights include the signature “Mirror Hall,” a design featuring a huge 16K LED screen that stages a stunning light show. The well-designed window frames provide visitors with unique views of the Huangpu River and the Lujiazui cluster of buildings. The panoramic terrace on the fourth floor is a perfect location for photographing panoramas and sunsets of the Huangpu River. The best time to visit MAP is spring and autumn, when the weather is pleasant and outdoor landscapes are clearly visible. Photography buffs can opt for twilight time to capture the amazing scenery along the Huangpu River from the MAP terrace. The light show in the Mirror Hall is ideal for nighttime photography. The wide-angle lens is recommended to present more stunning effects.
