The Xisha Mingzhu Lake Scenic Area is located at the southwest end of Chongming Island, the world's largest river delta alluvial sand island and the third largest island in China. It consists of Mingzhu Lake and Xisha Wetland, with a total area of 7.8 square kilometers (11,900 mu). The area was originally a main channel of the South Branch of the Yangtze River and was also the region where the famous navigator Zheng He sailed through during the Ming Dynasty.

Mingzhu Lake is surrounded by an 8-kilometer-long running track, with lush vegetation all around, creating a picturesque natural landscape. The lake water is clear and calm, surrounded by dense forests, wetlands, and tidal flats, forming a diverse and rich ecosystem. In this wetland ecosystem, there are a large number of water birds and other wildlife. Whether it's running or cycling along the lake trail, or walking on the bird-watching platform, visitors can enjoy the fresh air and the scent of flowers and birds by the lake. On the wooden plank road by the lake, the body and mind gradually relax, as if merging with nature.
