Shanghai Haiwan National Forest Park

Introduction: "The base was jointly funded by Bright Food (Group) Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Chengtou Investment (Group) Co., Ltd. Construction began in 1999, and over fifteen years, the base has completed afforestation of 16,240 mu, planting over three million trees of more than 300 species, excavating 3.5 million cubic meters of earth, and forming over 2,300 mu of water surface. The currently open area primarily comprises four sections: (1) A science popularization and culture zone including twelve venues such as the Dinosaur Park, Celadon Pavilion, Root Carving Hall, and Kunlun Stone House; (2) A recreational activity zone; (3) A water activity zone; and (4) Shanghai’s largest thematic plum garden (seasonally open) covering 2,000 mu with 35,000 plum trees of 126 varieties. It has been awarded honors such as “Shanghai Science Education Base,” “Shanghai Student Off-Campus Practice Base,” “Shanghai Advanced Science Education Base,” “Shanghai Model Unit,” and “Shanghai Sihai Dinosaur Culture Science Museum.” Located far from the urban center with minimal light pollution (Bortle Scale rating of 3), it is suitable for camping and stargazing. Tips: Ideal for camping and stargazing, complemented by the park’s natural landscapes."
