Introduction: Shanghai Lu Xun Park (formerly known as Hongkou Park) is a historic urban park located at No. 2288 North Sichuan Road, Ouyang Road Subdistrict, Hongkou District. Originally established in 1896 (the 22nd year of the Guangxu reign during the Qing Dynasty), the park underwent multiple expansions and renovations before being officially renamed in 1988 to commemorate the great literary giant Lu Xun. Covering a total area of 223,300 square meters, the park integrates historical relics, cultural landmarks and natural landscapes, making it one of Shanghai’s most significant cultural and recreational spaces. The park is particularly renowned for its Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms, with prime viewing areas located around the exit of Metro Line 8 at North Sichuan Road and East Jiangwan Road, as well as the area along the west gate near the football field. The cherry trees here were planted in 2010, totaling 180 in number. The ground cover consists of 1,000 square meters of irises.
