2025-07-28

The Shanghai Symphony Orchestra's 2025-26 season is titled "Living." Over the next 10 months, starting in September, the orchestra will present more than 80 concerts for local audiences. These will include orchestral performances, chamber music, and unique Rush Hour events.

The inaugural concerts, scheduled for September 5 and 7, will commemorate the 50th anniversary of Shostakovich's death. Conductor and artistic director Yu Long will lead the orchestra in performances of the Russian composer's Symphony No. 5 and Symphony No. 7. Additionally, Shostakovich's Symphony No. 8 and Symphony No. 9 will be performed in October and November.
