Museum of Shanghai Normal University

The Museum of Shanghai Normal University was opened on May 18, 2002. Its collections include jade, bronze, ceramics, inscriptions and so on. Some of them are very rare and precious. The Neolithic jade disc has a neat shape and polished surface, reflecting a high level of craftsmanship. The rubbings of Duke Mao Tripod and San Family's Plate are fine early rubbings. The handwritten sutras by monks in the Sui Dynasty and the sutras translated by Xuanzang are rare cultural relics. The thangka works were mostly made in the Qing Dynasty, with distinctive national features.
