Leland Lai

Managing Director Asia-GSMA Ltd. Leland heads GSMA's P&L and operations of its regional offices in Asia. In 2011, he led GSMA through a strategic pivot and grew Mobile World Congress Shanghai (www.mwcshanghai.com) from 2,300 to 53,000 attendees in 5 years. Leland began his career with Hutchison Telecom in 1990, and participated in world's first GSM bids in Germany, Greece and Australia. He then restructured in Puerto Rico an Alcatel-ITT MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) for an IPO as part of eOn Communications (Nasdaq:EONC).
