Dances, opera, poetry and singing on Saturday at the Aegean Place shopping mall in Minhang District attracted passing shoppers to stop and watch.
The opening ceremony of the “A+Life” by the mall and Shanghai Morning Post’s all-media platform Zhoudao, promotes cultural activities in public spaces.
It’s also part of the celebrations for the mall's second anniversary, a one-stop complex featuring experiential consumption for young people, families and communities.
The ceremony started with a dance from the movie “La La Land” and went on to classic episodes of Yueju opera performed by children.
As new garbage-sorting regulations came into effect in July, a team also staged a performance using garbage bins as drums. Students from Shanghai Guangming High School also recited a French poem and sang a French song. The ceremony ended with the a Korean Nanta show.
