Summer Musical: Chinese Version of "Murder Ballad" To Be Staged In Shanghai
The Chinese version of the musical "Murder Ballad" will be staged at Shanghai Grand Theater from July 5, 2017. Its screenplay was jointly written by renowned screenwriter Julia Jordan and indie rock singer Juliana Nash. The show was a rip-roaring success when it premiered at Broadway in 2012 - tickets were immediately sold out and it had the crowd on its feet. After that, stage drama producers of various countries took to the show and have bestowed upon the world its renditions of various languages. Now, champion singer Su Shi and musical "Little Prince" Mao Haifei will be close at hand, giving the audience an opportunity to bask in the radiance of star power.

In the show, after breaking up with bartender Tom, the protagonist Sara met Michael, a doctor of New York University. They get married and give birth to a child. But with an increasingly dull life, Sara begins to crave an impassioned life. In a bar, Sara`s "flames of love` with Tom are rekindled, but her sense of guilt for her family and her desire of possession of Tom make her realize that this is a dangerous choice. At the end, one person will die, but who? Who`s the killer? Nail-biting suspense builds up throughout the show.

Different from traditional musicals, "Murder Ballad" does not have dialogues, but keeps the audience entertained with 41 pieces impassioned and soothing music. We`ll see how the four mysterious stage heavyweights will light up the stage with their difficult and eye-opening performances about love and murder.
